e got alot more subscriptions in today. 6 of them were double subscriptions, which was cool. It took me until 1 pm to get all my magazine stuff done as I have been not as many hours at the computer that I normally am. My excuse? I took some 'me time'. I needed it as I think I am getting run down as you will read in a second or two. I spend at least 70 hours a week on the computer as well as doing all my other stuff. So I got to read fiction for the first time in a long time and I took 3 part days and got it read. I finished it at 1 am this morning. Thank you to everyone whom is telling others about the magazine. For you who are trying to subscribe, just email me, PayPal is still being weird and it is not just for our website. Email me and I can invoice you. Some people can get through, some can't and if you are getting frustrating with 'timing out', just email me.

Today as soon as I finish my blog is do the mundane things of cleaning the house. The bathroom and livingroom are on my agenda. Then go outside to help do the logging stuff. The Cat finally got started. It took about 5 hours, two days in a row to get it to go go Vroooom Vrooom.. (or whatever bulldozers do), so we are 2 days behind. We are kid-less tonight which is a rarity!!

Last night I had to go get "Kid" after he went to play rugby and though this is not far from our homestead as the crow flies,

Picture above: We live up on that mountain, not far from the top.

it is a long long way via road. The road is paved for about the first 10 miles and then it is washboardy dirt road due to the winter. In places the road is only single lane, in other places I had to shift down to 2nd gear to drive properly.

When people work with animals alot, they tend to build up immunities against things they can catch from the animals. Ringworm is one such thing. I have worked with cats with ringworm for years at the clinic and I never caught it. This week I did. I am pretty sure I got it from our calf which was given to us with "Daisy". Ringworm is supposed to be self limiting in cattle and go away. I have to do a skin scraping on him and see exactly what it is and treat all the cattle.

So yes.. I am 'diseased' this week. Ringworm is a fungus like a mushroom, not an actual worm, so don't squirm off your chair. It doesn't hurt, it doesn't do anything particularly noticeable to me, maybe itch a little as the cream is drying? I am glad it has not spread and has just stayed on my left forearm.

The rivers are packed with ice and there are ice blocks on some of them. They were worried about one river a week or so ago. It has been getting very cold at night and alot of the rivers are coming from up further north. This is another picture of the valley and river below our mountain.

Picture left: A beautiful view of one of our major rivers. Right at the bend at the middle center of the left side of the picture, you can see some of the ice jams
