are going to have a busy day today. We were supposed to get up at 7:30am, the
alarm went off and my boyfriend pronounced that "Teenager" gave him a
cold and he went back to sleep. So that leaves me as the one who is up, turned
on the greenhouse grow lights, turn eggs and make coffee before 8 am. Everyone
else is completely asleep and I wonder if the younger boys who slept outside
near the bonfire last night froze. Probably not or we probably would have been
invaded at 3 am. I am surprised as it is still getting cold at night and they
refused to take the warm -30F sleeping bags.
Mom called last night. She says she reads my blogs to make sure I am still alive. Amy's mom does the same thing to see if her daughter is still kicking. It is just that when it is light out, we are doing stuff outside and when it is not Ok outside, I am usually working on the computer inside. Mom said she, my brother and SIL may rent a motor home and come up to see us. That would be good, my brother and his wife have never been here in 6 years.
This morning when my guy gets out of the warm cozy bed, we have water to haul, three 1,100 pound bales to get on the trailer, a turkey to butcher and deliver to his aunts for dinner tomorrow. This is a HUGE bird. I think they may have to cut it in half to get it in an oven.
Mary & Matthew are moving up today. I have to go over in a while to get their woodstove going as the house has been empty since December. That way it will be warm for them when they get up here.
From 3-9 pm I have to babysit a friends almost teenagers, as they got busted the day before yesterday... (*Laugh* - I just saw movement in "Kid's" room.. they apparently did get cold at 2-3 am and bailed back into the house from sleeping in the tent).
I have to go to the organic potato growers to get my 90 pounds of carrots which I should have picked up a month ago. I have to go to the local store to get a new roaster pan (industrial size) and a case of yams/sweet potatoes as I am in charge of them for Easter dinner for the family as apparently I make them the best. I need 2 roaster pans full as there is 40 people.
New tactic on my arm. I am now onto Tea Tree oil neat on my arm twice a day. It makes it itch alot less than the fungal cream does. The smell is nasty, but maybe it will keep any early mosquitoes away? I have to do this for 10 days. Then dilute it in olive or grapeseed oil and use it for 2 weeks more. If I see no improvement by Wednesday, I guess I will have to break down and see a doctor, though I am not impressed with any of them in town.
I am sure there are more logs to move up today since we will not get many done tomorrow I suppose. We got 2 truckloads of firewood cut and split and stacked into the woodshed last night and then went out and enjoyed a good bonfire.
