ick. I caught my boyfriend's headcold which was a hand-me-down from "Teenager". I have been taking my Vitamin C like crazy since "Teenager" got ill and all my vitamins when my guy got sick. I slept on the couch and avoided him like the plauge. I did not get much sleep on the couch. "Cyrus" the guard dog barking his fool head off half the night and then cats zooming about the house. So lack of sleep, then I helped friend's move into their new 154 acre farm as they finally moved up from the coast.

Then this morning, I felt horrific and total lack of energy... then went to bed, went to the couch, went to bed, somehow ended up the couch again and then woke up a few times when the phone rang and then my "MIL" called me, my eyes flew as wide open as they were going to get and I told her to start cold hosing, I grabbed all my veterinary first aid kits and flew to her house.

Her lovely mare "Vandy" got her head stuck in the outdoor metal hay manger and then drug it behind the barn, moved over a few trees, went down the hill partway and then got it stuck between 2 huge fir trees and spend all night attached to the hay manger. When I got there, I assessed the situation, found she had alot of road rash from stem to stern, shaved around one small puncture wound on the back of a foreleg, a gouge on the other front leg knee... then noted she was resting her hind leg still and when we moved her a bit she was packing her hind right leg. And then I noted she was 'ouchy' on both hind legs, it was just the left one was the lesser of 2 evils to stand on. My "MIL" cold hosed that horse off and on for 5 hours before we could finally get a vet out there. It is always nice to know that you did all you know how to do and the vet only needed to give super duper anti-imflamatory drugs (something I need for my sinuses right now I think).

I am going back to lay down on the couch.. or maybe make some tea.. with alot of honey and lemon.
