arth Day is today. What are you doing to go out of your way to contribute to the health of our home? On OHG today, I put up the challenge of each member (almost 6,000 people) to change at least ONE of their incandescent lightbulbs out for a compact fluorescent bulb and I challenge my readers here to do the same. If you leave your home today, stop by and pick up a CF lightbulb and put it in the light you use the most frequently in your home.

I started to lay my stone walkway to the root cellar from the mudroom and a side path of stone up to the barnyard stairway which is not there yet. But will be... Eventually... Someday.

Picture: A 30 minute start of the layout of the stone path to the root cellar and the barnyard. I will lay them out and look at it a few days to see how pleasing to the eye it is. I followed the contour of where everyone is laying a path in the dirt from walking already. It is about 80 feet from the root cellar to the mudroom.

"Kid" is doing the dishes and listening to the radio like he normally does. But today we remembered to get the solar powerbox and use it for power for the radio instead. We are getting more and more used to using it instead of the wall socket.

I am taking a break currently while "Kid" finishes his chores and checking messages and yammering here. Other things I want to do this week is clean out the root cellar and think about shelving. Take herbs and magazines to my friend tomorrow on my way to drop off magazines at a nursery who wants to carry "Down to the Roots". Finish these paths up and work on one from the driveway to the greenhouse as it is a swamp between point A and point B. I think I may not have enough stone though, so it may have to wait until we can go up on the mountain to the slide area to collect some more.
