ometimes even as much as you think you are aware of what is around you, sometimes you still miss things. Myself included. Granted, they could have just popped up overnight, but I also stepped on some others yesterday before I looked down to see where I was walking.

What on earth am I talking about? Wild mushrooms!!!! There are only a few kinds I will pick and these are some of them. I will double check them with a friend to make sure they are correctly what I think they are, but these are Shaggy Manes.. also called Shaggy Cap. We have been on the lookout for these the last few days and these two are growing up right next to my rock flowerbeds, which I just discovered a few minutes ago.

I have been sick the last few days, so hence my lack of enthusiasm about blogging. If I had though, I would have shared about the total eclipse which was happening Monday night. I did indeed could not stand not watching it, so I got my winter sleeping bags out and laid on the front porch most of the night watching it. It was very surreal and nothing was moving.. no wind, no animal noises.. nothing. Very cool.
