his
is the last day of February. This month has just flown. I woke this morning with
a headache again.. late.. and yelled at the boys we were funning 36 minutes
late. I chucked a baggie full of change at "Kid" and told him to eat
breakfast. "Kid" was quite happy with the change as I never let him
buy lunch at school. He smiled like he won the lottery. Poor kid though. I think
there was like $4 in change in there and it was mostly pennies and nickels with
the odd dime. He grabbed only a banana for breakfast and I told him there were
apples as well. I think I won another one when he asked if they were organic.
When I said they were organic Fuji's and I bought them the other day for him (he
usually takes 2 for snacks during the school day), he said he had not touched
them as he thought they did not look organic. I am pleased he is looking for and
aware of the organic alternatives. I think because they were smaller, VS the
large ones I get, he saw them as different?
Snowing again. It always amazes me that it seems to snow even more as Spring approaches up here. It has been snowing for at least 7 hours now. We are counting the days until breakup when we can get that dead wood out of our back 40 and turn it into lumber for the cabin, the barns and what-have-you. We want snow on the ground so the tractor and Cat can skid them easy to the decking sites. When meltdown happens around here, the clayish mud sticks 6" to all sides of your boots, tires of vehicles and everything else it connects with. Other than when I am stacking stone for drystacked walls, the mud is not overly useful for anything.
I baked up a storm today. 4 batches of cheese muffins, 2 batches of Cinnamon Apple muffins, boiled and baked 12 bagels and a double loaf of Honey-whole wheat bread. The bread and half the muffins will be gone by tomorrow. I think Onion-Potato bread will be in the works tomorrow. I have alot of spuds in the root cellar yet. I also found a great buy on rye flour, so I want to try out a Beer-Rye bread recipe. I have been craving Rye bread for awhile.
