just so lends itself to soups and I am on a soup kick again this week. The
woodstove is on most, if not all of the time and so it is a easy way to keep the
soup hot all the time. At night I put the lid on and set it on the front porch
to freeze overnight. I have alot of yams out in the root cellar and they need to
start to be used up. We have over 40 pounds of them out there and we are not yet
eating them as fast as we normally do, so we better start. This is what I am
making tomorrow.
Caribbean Yam Soup
2 medium roasted red bell peppers-seeded and
peeled
3 medium yams; peeled, sliced and -boiled
1 teaspoons minced jalapeno pepper
4 1/2 cup vegetable or chicken broth
2 tb minced fresh cilantro
Combine the ingredients in a blender or food processor and puree until
smooth. Pour soup into large saucepan and warm over medium heat. Cook,
stirring occasionally, until warmed through.
Today was kinda strange
for errands, but "Kid" and I got them all done. I went to drop more
magazines off at the
post
office. I went to go look at a friend's angora wether goat who has a previous
history of abscesses, to see if he was doing it again, as he is developing a
lump in the same area. I instructed the owner of the goat how to give IM
injections. The picture today is from outside of one of the buildings at her
place. Then truck insurance and a few other odds and ends.
We also have a problem with a certain individual trespassing on our land. There has been charges filed previously and this warning is for public record. You have been trespassed off our property, your friends whom you sent last night and came to our front door (Jess) were not invited here and your red van has previously been banned. Last night was your last warning, next time you will be taken to court. For the rest of you.. we are very welcoming people and have had many readers come visit us, but these local individuals we have had issues with repeatedly coming onto our land after they have been trespassed off and sitting out at the road watching the house. In the old days.. and yet still sometimes, you need to take out a public record in the local paper to make things legal. This is my public record.
