irst thing this morning, we called on hay to pick up tomorrow for the cattle. $80 a bale, which sounds bad until you realize they are 1,800 pound bales. That is 6 cents a pound for hay.

It snowed a little last night, nothing major. The wind is nasty though. It is not that cold out, but the wind chills you if you are not dressed properly. I am wrapped in a blanket as I type this, more psychological and comfort than due to real cold. I don't have any socks on for instance and my bare feet are warm.

Going to do a fair bit of sewing this weekend I hope. I have 2 projects I want to get done before next month and since I pretty much loathe sewing machines and the feeling is mutual for whatever an inanimate machine can feel. I think we have a trade as Amy hates embroidery work and I love it. So I will cut out and pin my stuff together and she sews them and I do the needlecraft.

I have to go through the root cellar and check produce. I know there are some yams I need to deal with today and make soup and such from.

"Kid" got archery equipment for his Christmas gift this year and he is taking his first lesson this morning. He is very excited. I figure anyone who uses a cheap little kids bow with haytwine and can hit things for the last 3 years, deserved a real bow and string with lessons.
