now!!
Finally again we have snow. Overnight we had a little over a foot dumped and it
is still coming down. The plow trucks have not gone by, which is probably no
major big deal if I head out, but it is when I get to the 'main roads' and the
logging trucks start pushing me for speed. So those of you whom I told I was
heading to town today, I won't be. We are supposed to get snow until
midnight tonight and that will give us about 24" snow in 24 hours.
Amy's horse seems to be doing ok.. and that reminds me I need to email her parents, as her computer died last night, but she told me before I had my eyes open this morning. I am trying to remember what she said the email addy was, I may have to call her again.
The good news with me staying home, is I have free time to write on the next issue today, catch up on some laundry and to put the wooden clothes drying racks that Mary brought me up to good use. As I am typing this I am yelling at the cats, who are on my bad-kitty list today already, to keep them from using the drying racks as a jungle gym. The little rodents (I figure that is a wonderful derogatory term to call a cat if you are mad at them and want to insult them), decided they wanted to keep me awake from 2 am to 7 am. I am not happy with them. I couldn't shut the door as they were pounding on it, they used me for a freeway, they kept pouncing on me.. creating a ruckus in the kitchen as they were jumping on and sliding in a cardboard box. Against my better judgment, as I did not want to reward them for plaguing me, I fed them, then the kitten ate in haste and threw up under my bed. I was ready to chuck the indoor cats out into the snow.
I went to feed the cattle this morning and stood next to one of the 1,800 pound bales to cut it open. I felt so dwarfed next to it. It was like Goliath. The cows were happy to see me, but not happy enough to let me pet them and "Daisy" had a large wad of snow on the noseband of her halter which looked like a giant white pom-pom.
It is snowing harder now, than when I started this post. I guess I need to go shovel the porch and walkways again as well as put a marker on our new well, so when my guy backs up the driveway with his logging truck he will not take it out. There is so much snow coming down in the 'nose bleed' area he is working today on a mountain, the plowtrucks cannot keep up and they are shutting down early today.
