ay
cool! Last night I got a phone call from a local newspaper for an interview
about the upcoming sled dogs event I am in. I just thought it was a regular kind
of telephone interview and then it was over and done with. She shocked me as
apparently this is going to be an ongoing interview every step of the way of the
sledding event. From being sworn in as an official mail carrier, to starting out
to the end. Then I shocked her as I asked if she wanted a ride on the dogsled. I
am meeting her on Saturday to take her for a spin and pictures.
After she figured out that I have "Down to the Roots" magazine, she was really interested and heard good things about the magazine. Then somehow we got on the topic and we have alot in common as she is also from Oregon!! She lived not very far from where I grew up and lived most of my life until 6 years ago.

Picture Above: This is me running my team a
couple years ago as I have no current pictures. It is very difficult to take
pictures of your team as you are actually running them. Yes, I am in a pink tank
top. Contrary to belief, the mushers, do ALOT of running and you
get rather warm when the sun is out.
We got the dog boxes done and they are on the truck. I do have to admit.. they are Beautiful!! I still want to put a silhouette of a running husky on the back and if I do not get to it this weekend, there is always next year.
Picture Below: We got the finished sled dog boxes on the truck today. They are ready and stuffed with straw to keep the dogs comfy while I truck the dogs to the longer trails. Between now and the event, I need to run the team about 20 miles a day.
