reader from Washington State sent in a great picture of her son helping her make
the Calazone recipe from the Winter issue of the magazine last night. It looks
like he is a professional
Calazone
maker. What was
funny, is we had Calazone last night for dinner as well. (Yes, he has clothing
on his lower half his mother reassured me). Ain't he a cutie!!
I got up at 5:30 am to get ready to go to my doctor's appointment which I was supposed to go to on Friday, but the roads were too nasty to think about going anywhere that day. I saw pictures of the accident the night before we were supposed to leave which had the highway closed for multiple hours. To the two women who were severely injured.. you are in my thoughts.. please get well soon.
On a happy note... I also got more fan mail last night...
On yet another happy note, the specialist I went to today, said, I am healthy and did not have what the other doctor thought I had. I am to proceed as normal, but continue out the drugs they gave me for the next 3 months. I am so happy, I am not even whining about taking drugs. (I do not even take anything for a headache normally).
However, one catastrophe tonight. My boyfriend was poking around in My Kitchen (sometimes it is his kitchen when he is cooking, but I was cooking tonight) and poked where he ought not have and then put the hot glass lid in a cold kitchen sink. Ka-BOOOOOOM! He said he had a no-brain moment. Really?
At least he was not hurt. So after picking up shards of glass from everywhere, we had to make a new pot of soup for me as I did not feel like porkchops tonight. He felt bad and helped me make a new batch of Carrot-Ginger Soup. I used all the orange juice in the first batch, so the second batch has mango juice in it, and we had to make "Kid" run out to the root cellar to get more onions. The mango juice gives it a slightly different kick, but we got carried away and got heavy handed with the ginger, so who can tell on the mere mango juice *L*.
