spend last evening starting on 4 dog ganglines for Elena and my sleds. That way we can just quickly change them out instead of messing with dismantling the gangline and tuglines for my team of 8 and then reassembling them. Elena started her trip around midnight or so this morning and should be here this afternoon. I am sure she will be tired, but I warned her we were on a dead run all week.

The roads are hideous this morning. I get a call at 6 am from my boyfriend to tell me and the boys not to drive anywhere until later in the morning when the sun comes up. Elena will be OK, as she would not have made it up this far yet. We are high on a mountain and it is +0.8C so it will be warmer down lower.

We ran out of water last night. The old well went dry, so the dishes did not get done. It is my fault, I pushed to get 2 loads of laundry done before guests arrive. Everyone here hopes Spring will arrive soon. but I noted there was not that much grumbling anymore when this happens. I am not sure if that is due to mental conditioning every time this happens, or we just see a light at the end of the tunnel when we get the new well hooked up.
