12:10 am

fter days of working like mad on the Summer 2007 issue, at midnight this morning I just got it done and it is ready for printing tomorrow. ...errr.. today. It feels good to get it done. And I do not dislike any part of it, so that makes me happy.

The garden is growing, the rail fencing is getting done bit by bit, though we will not be able to work on it for 4 days now. Taking the milk goats back down the road to Mary's last night, I saw a huge hairy head on the other side of a neighbor's field gate. I stopped and almost started to take pictures as he was so close. Then I remembered I had goats in the back and it may not be a good idea to park 10 feet from a bear with goats. On my way back, he had crossed the road and was grazing on clover and rolling over and over in it. It was hard to get a good picture of him. But with that hump, he is definitely a Grizzly in our neck of the woods. No one believed me until I got the pictures to prove it. This picture is taken less than 1/8 th of a mile from our cabin. We are guessing he is a yearling as he is not that big.

Goodnight. I am tired.. I worked 17 hours on the magazine today, but thought I should update you guys before I go to sleep.

Afternoon Update:

As usual, a glitch on print day, but it cannot get fixed until the Xerox Press mechanic guy gets here. I actually called for one about 3 months ago and I have not seen hide nor hair of him yet, but Xerox promises that he will call today and be out tomorrow. So.. because I am not holding my breath that I will see him anytime soon (as New Brunswick Xerox office does not even know where our closest mechanic is.. and that is probably 14 hrs away from here), we went to press anyway, feeling that you guys could live with a small streak through the top of each page, apparently caused by 'noise' or static or something. We like the magazine to be 'pretty', so it annoys us, but most people who we showed it to said they did not even really see it. So the magazines will be sent on Monday as the post office will bring in more staff for us that day.
