June 23, 2007

am still exhausted... and cold. The boys are building me a fire in the woodstove as I type this. We had a fire in it last night as well.

I woke up at 3 am and worked until 4 am and then went to bed until 6 am to get up to do chores and head off to Saturday Market. After Saturday Market I went with some people to their house to go teach them how to cull out their Californian rabbit herd. I spent about 3 hrs there I think, but it did not seem that long. I got a juvenile Californian doe as a gift. It was nice working with the rabbits as then as it keeps my 'eye' sharp for judging livestocks.

She brought me back to my house and I gave her the grand tour. She is of like minds, but doesn't have a mentor, so if she wants, I would be willing to help show her the "homesteady path". She is a very nice sort. She even took "Blossom" for a walk this evening.

My guy made everyone omelet's for dinner tonight. I actually had been thinking about them for a few days, so I was glad he made them. We go through over 22 eggs for omelets here to feed the boys who are here for baseball tourneys this weekend. I had to run out to the henhouse as I sold most of all our eggs at the Saturday Market today. Soon they will be fed certified organic layer ration, so that ought to be a selling feature as well. I sell out each weekend on eggs even now.

I will work on labeling for a little bit and then get some sleep.
