lossom's affection for her mother was short lived. I am now her world. She latched onto the bottle well this morning and then started to call and follow me around when she was done. In the picture you can see her fat lip from where she hit the fence and when we were ultimately able to catch her.

Last night on the Live Chat here at the "Down to the Roots" website, we had a nice talk with several members until I was bedtime for all of us. It was very pleasant to be able to talk and gab to people about homesteading.. I even ate dinner at the same time :oP

Due to all the high heat from last week, rains this week... most of all the rivers for hundreds of miles are overflowing their banks. Many towns are shut off due to flooding, bridges out and mudslides. It concerns us too, as my guy and his brother and father are possibly trapped over there. I have not heard from him since Sunday, but it was not expected he would until tonight. "Teenager" and I have been watching the news way more than normal and getting the updates from the flood sites every few hours to keep informed. I need to stock up on livestock feed just in case our road to town gets blocked as well. We are way too far up in elevation to be flooded here, but the roads to town and our town itself isn't.
