on't you love the lovely aroma of burnt toast in the mornings? So much so that the smoke alarm is going off? The kids tried to jam a too thick piece of homemade bread into the toaster this morning and they question why it turned black so suddenly. Hmmm..

-9C this morning. I had to re-build  fire in the woodstove as we let it go out overnight. I am a little chilled, but I think it is mental over physical. I put some wool socks on and I think that is better. It doesn't help that stupid muscle I pulled in my neck the other day still hurts. I think I did not mention this incident. I was taking a nap on the couch, minding my own business in my dreams and someone thought it would be cute to squeak a frog toy right under my nose to wake me up. I jumped and I pulled a muscle in the left side of my neck. Horse liniment helps, but since I am going to be around people today, I think I better wait to a later time to apply it.

"Teenager" came up with a great idea last night. Go to our Forums to place your 'bet' of when the various cows will have their calves. The person closest to when each cow will calve, will win a "Down to the Roots" T-shirt. (You will have to let me know your size later). Alot of people are starting to put their dates down. 

Amy and I are making several batches of soap today. I am down to one bar of homemade soap and since we cannot use them for around 6 weeks, we better make it now. Amy has never made soap before. She is hooked now and wants to make alot more. When her parents are up, we may make another batch so her mum can get in on it too.
