t
is an ugly day in the neighborhood!! It looks like a storm on the Oregon coast
coming in. Windy, rainy.. do I have to go outside??
Yesterday was fairly productive. Threshed pea seed, ate leftover French Onion soup, did computer stuff, got a call and crossed my fingers and went to get the part for the press so I can continue on my merry little way to get the final 2 pages of the magazine done so I can get those mailed out. The part was not the one I was looking for. It was cyan ink instead.. which I needed, but not detrimentally. Basically all that is holding me up is a waste container!! It is not like the press is broken, just needs a new 'garbage can' in it. I cannot even just empty the thing out, as even the 'garbage can' is computerized. And it KNOWS!
We finally got our own chain saw yesterday so we do not have to keep borrowing someone else's. We got a really good deal on it and it is almost new. So the falling of all our bug-kill will commence soon. Probably not today I hope, too windy and dangerous I would think.
It is another water hauling day. 300 gallons. At least we are not having to haul every day with the melts, but we are hauling water for the cows. So soon we can get our new well hooked up. It will be bliss.
I want to start my seeds after I go to town to drop what magazines we got printed off to the post office. With all the other labeling we have to do, it can be an hour or better there, even with a single box of them. I hope the winds die down as it will be a bumpy ride to the house or to the road with the 3 tier greenhouse .. much like a kite. I may end up in Oz.
Evening Update:
Got the outdoor greenhouse cleaned out and noted that some of the herbs and the lilacs which were in the greenhouse all winter and had not a hint of any care or water were starting to bud out and send up shoots from the soil. Got all the 60-some pots of tomatoes and peppers which were left when the freezes came, dumped out and stacked.
I got the mini-greenhouse into the house and started 2 flats of a few things tonight.
