March 24, 2007

reamed last night. I am going to the first livestock auction of the year today and I dreamed last night we found an older draft horse gelding with a harness and no one wanted him. I just remember he was very kind. I do not remember the end result if we brought him home or not. I always like to go to auctions. I never buy (I think 2x in 20 years counts as not usually buying), but I like to see what kinds of animals are coming through, and what breeds. It keeps my eye 'right' for judging various breeds/species. I do not judge horses very well though. I can only see the obvious things wrong. So that is why I go with a horse person and the horse person takes me, as I can judge the other livestock. It is fun to also debate points on the animals and I always like it too when we disagree with each other hehehehe..

Well, we went to the auction and I found my guy. It was love at first site. He was young, tall, blonde and handsome. Amy thinks he is maybe 7, but a beautiful Belgian gelding. He followed me as far as the fence went in both directions. He has a mustache
and he evidently put dirt on my face with it as he was nuzzling me. Horse auction is tomorrow. I know he will not be coming home with me then, but he was really a sweetie. I hope he goes to a good home which will appreciate him.

Picture Above: The guy on the right is whom I wanted to take home. His mane and forelock had cockleburs in it. And he has quite the Roman nose, but he is darling and wanted to go home in my pocket I think. He kept lipping me, my hair and my wool coat. The one to the left is also a gelding, but offstandish and a little shy I think. if you cannot tell from the picture, it is snowing as we were checking out the livestock holding pens.

Tonight was more planting seeds.
