aturday Market starts today.  After years of wanting to do Saturday Market, we are finally doing it. Amy of Highland Clover Farm spent the last 2 days handpainting a sign for our booth at the Market. She did a lovely job on it. She says she has not painted for a long time. But she did an awesome job.

We were well received at our first Saturday Market and we will be going back for the rest of the season which lasts until mid-October. I think Mary almost sold out of soap!! She had to come over tonight to borrow oatmeal for her Oatmeal & Honey bars.

Thirst

My spirit wails for water, water now!
My tongue is aching dry, my throat is hot
For water, fresh rain shaken from a bough,
Or dawn dews heavy in some leafy spot.
My hungry body's burning for a swim
In sunlit water where the air is cool,
As in Trout Valley where upon a limb
The golden finch sings sweetly to the pool.
Oh water, water, when the night is done,
When day steals gray-white through the windowpane,
Clear silver water when I wake, alone,
All impotent of parts, of fevered brain;
Pure water from a forest fountain first,
To wash me, cleanse me, and to quench my thirst!

Water!! Cross one thing off our 'Break Up' chore list. Other than a little smoothing out from the backfilling. The new well is in and plumbed into the cabin. We are letting it run for 24 hours which seems like such a waste, but it needs to be done. As I type this, my guy is taking a well earned hot bath. I have not tried the water yet as it was murky earlier, but the guys say it tastes great! Water and good tasting.. we are fortunate.

Picture Above
: Looking down our old well earlier today before Amy and I slid the lid back into place. The pressure tank used to sit on those boards above the water. I measured today to see how deep it was for the hand pump we plan to install for when the electricity goes out again. It was 18 feet to the water and 36 feet to the bottom of the well. Yes, it is scary crawling down in there.

Picture Below: My job was to tape the wire to the pipe. This new pipe is hooked to the submersible pump which will go into the new 120' well. Hopefully this will be the last time we see this pump for a long, long time.

Picture Below
: This was the pressure tank the guys hauled up out of the old well and installed into the new pumphouse. In this picture it is not hooked up, but by the time we got it hooked up and the ditch backfilled, I did not care about taking any pictures. I can do that tomorrow. I came into the house, had a Ceaser Salad and immediately and accidentally a 2 hour nap on the loveseat only to wake when the phone rang.

A huge thank you to R.P. for doing so much for us, the wiring, the directing of what whom was supposed to be doing at the time.. THANK YOU!!!

(P.S. It is OK about the cursing too..)
