are gluttons for punishment. After putting in 6 hours steady of cutting lumber
yesterday, we did a few more odds and ends. Then my guy fired up the tractor to
smooth out the water ditch after it was refilled and I conned him into tilling
the garden up for me. I like it to be tilled about three times before I plant
it. The soil in the garden is improving so much compared to three years ago when
it was a sod garden. We still can't plant anything until the last weekend of
May. I moved the brassicas out to the main greenhouse last night. They are
looking good. The garden looks rather little in the picture, but it is really
3,500 square foot.

Today we start on the fencing over at Mary's. My guy and Mary had to go get the trailer to put all the fencing materials on early in the morning. Amy and I are on standby.
I had a couple inquiries from readers as to how the Nicholas White turkeys were faring and we are now down to 2 out of 11 here at the farm. 9 died. All of the Bronze are happy growing little poults and not one ever looked ill. One concerned reader even wrote the hatchery on our behalf. I have not talked to Amy or Mary yet about this, but my feeling is that even if the hatchery will send us replacement animals, I think I would refuse them. They had their chance to make it right before and at this point, I feel like that if they did, it would be just because they found out we are a magazine being sent worldwide and I do not want to 'blackmail' them into sending some. I think they should be fair to Joe-Nobody as well as someone who owns a magazine. Until they were informed as to who we are, we were Joe-Nobody.
