oday was a pretty brutal day. We got bracing done on a few corners and it was a rough 600 or so feet of fencing. Tomorrow we shall do better time on it. Hopefully we run out of fencing material before we wear out. No brush or old fencing to take down tomorrow. Before noon today, it felt like we had not accomplished very much. By late afternoon, it definitely felt like we had got alot done. Our muscles were pretty much screaming and the sun was pretty warm. Mary forgot to wear a hat and her brain was getting pretty toasty I think. We plan on working in the morning only.

Yes, it looks like I wear the same clothes everyday. These are my fencing clothes and they will be pretty ruined by the time we get done. The cuffs are already almost off the sleeves. I already have holes from the barbwire ripped through my new leather gloves. I have only had them a couple weeks now. By mid-summer I may need a new pair. Again.

We saw the rare White Pelicans fly overhead today. There are only a few places they summer and raise their young at. Mary and family are fortunate that the pelicans sometimes live on their small lake.

At home here, while Mary and I worked on her fences, my guy got the rest of the bush piles off our fields with the D-3 Cat and will have them ready to disc tomorrow to seed the pastures. Unfortunately, our tractor died earlier in the weeks. The engine is currently ripped apart and the bottom end out of it, so we are having to do things a little differently with the Cat instead of the normal way with a tractor. A very inconvenient time to have the tractor die.

"Daisy" is definitely bagging up. I hope to see a wee calf with her tomorrow morning. It will not be long as her udder is doubling almost every day. Stay posted!!
