odeo. That is what we had for half the day. Our silly calf (though the words were a little more stern than that from time to time from one of the people involved), got out of the fence multiple times yesterday and about 8 times today and he has totally ruined our front pasture fence.

We chased him around forever and a half and then my boyfriend got smart and called Uncle B. we borrowed Uncle B's stock trailer and a real lariat. My boyfriend has lost all of his ropes over the years. I asked him if he still knew how to rope, as I know it has been a few years since he had one. But apparently he did, he got the calf and then it took 3 of us to stop him, I tossed a rope halter on him and then we dragged him to the trailer.

In the trailer we put a yoke on him. Then we trailered him over to Mary's and put him in one of the finishes pastures. Yokes go back many centuries to keep foolish animals inside of fences. It is basically a "Y" which is tied at the top to keep them from pushing through fences as it catches on the other wires. We decided to keep the halter on him and let him drag it around for awhile so we can haul him to the lower pasture when we get it finished (tomorrow?) and get the other cattle installed in it.

On the plus side.. that is one less cow here. We got Mary's garden 100% planted and mine will be done tomorrow morning as all I have is carrots and lettuce left to plant.

I also just love my flowers. We do not have alot of beautiful landscaping per se. Though the surrounding land and scenery around is gorgeous.. I do like my flowers. One of the most spectacular in bloom currently is a Pink Bleeding Heart which is the largest specimen anyone has ever seen for a Bleeding Heart.

Whose hands are these? They really cannot be mine? This is what weeks of fencing and gardening do to ones hands. yes I use lotion every chance I get and no, I do not chew on my fingernails (are you kidding???) I decided I think I will never be a hand model for any television commercial. And yes.. they are clean.. but do they ever look like a 12 year old boys hands!
