I was growing up, I didn't watch alot of TV. My brother and I were busy doing
other things, such as art, playing outside with our 'life sized building blocks'
(dad gave us 200-some 4x4's), hiking, climbing trees etc. But when I did watch
movies it was Saturday mornings. One of my favorites was Robin Hood with Errol
Flynn. Then my brother and I would play we were Robin Hood and his Merry Men
(ok, there were only 2 of us, but we made it work, we may have even pressed the
Beagles and the barncat into being Merry Men too!). This morning I learned that
the real Sherwood Forest is
in trouble. That made me sad.. then thought about conservation we each can
do at home. If you are building a home, see about working with the land and the
native established plants and trees. If you are clearing land for pastures or
even logging, make sure you do it to help the land and wildlife and not just
clearcut everything.
It is snowing again... I will have to go over what I shoveled yesterday again and finish from where I left off and to the gate.
