The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued
Robert Frost (1874-1963)
Back to snow shoveling today. The worst is over, just a bit of cleanup from the small amount of snow which fell yesterday and the remaining bit which I did not get to on Sunday. There were a couple crows or ravens talking in the trees for awhile as I shoveled. I have started to read poetry again as now I have all my many boxes of books all at hand. One day they shall sit upon a bookshelf once more.
Last night at dusk I had 2 large good looking Red Angus (?) bulls who came to visit. I think I know who they belong to, but I could not reach them by phone. They went elsewhere during the night.
We are working on the calendars for the Holger Bauer First Aid Trust Fund today. We hope to have them at least printed by this evening. Four of us are working on them here. I should toss a pot of soup on the woodstove and bake some bread. If you would like a calendar to help with a very important cause, email Lynn to order one.
I need to bring a couple more days worth of wood down with the dog sled and move animal feed with it before my company gets here.
