had
the cravings for something sweet last night, so I made chocolate-vanilla fudge.
Chocolate-Vanilla Fudge
1/2 cup butter
1/3 water
16 ounces powdered sugar (I just guessed)
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup powdered cocoa
1/2 cup chopped nuts (I used pecans)
1-2 tsp of real Vanilla
In a pot, heat the butter and water to boil. Pull off heat. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. Butter a pie plate or something and then pour into the pie plate. Cool or refrigerate.
I also had company last night. Friend's brought me up some milk for a surprise as I evidently said I needed to go to the store to get some, and then they stayed for tea. They were much admiring my loom and I went over the workings of it and showed them the basics of weaving from the Inkle Loom.
I gave my clock radio to
"Teenager" a long, long time ago. So I didn't have an alarm really. I
have
been
feeding the cats at 6 am every morning and it is amazing how accurate they
really are. But I found the windup clock I bought last winter when we had the
huge windstorms and power outages for days at a time. Those high
winds are happening again. (The winds happen historically November & April
it seems). So having a windup clock will prevent me from oversleeping if the
cats "alarm is off". Because of the loud ticking of it, I am keeping
it in the livingroom when I sleep. I will have to get up to turn it off, which
is the whole idea anyway, but will not have to try to sleep hearing the tick,
tick, tick.
