6:45am
pparently
I was tired. I never even made it to 'bed' last night. I am still sleeping in
the livingroom until those 4 cross dowels come in, but I do make up a bed out
there each night and put it away each morning. I didn't get that far last night.
I woke up half an hour later than I normally do with a cat perched on me keeping
me warm.
It is supposed to snow again today and tomorrow. I will have to shovel out my driveway tomorrow. I broke down and bought new windshield wipers for my truck yesterday as these ones are leaving streaks so bad it is not a good thing. The guy at the parts store, took a look at my truck, diligently looked through his books and sold me a pair. I went to put them on later and was stumped. I know I have changed them before and this set was a complete mystery to me. On my travels yesterday I saw one of my DTTR readers whom I know is a mechanic, so he kindly went out to look at them for me and the diagnosis was they are the wrong ones. Thank you Rob! So I have to go and return them today and get the proper ones.
Now that I have a couple tools, I need to put the storm windows on the poultry house. I like keeping it open as long as possible to keep down on humidity issues. But with the temps being called at -11C for a high later in the week, I need to do so. I have to find a chair and use that to stand on to put up the 3x4 foot window. That is one of my chores this morning. Another is to find my horse. She didn't eat her hay yesterday. If she didn't last night, I need to go see if there is a break in the fence. I think I am going to have to duct tape all these animals into place *sigh*. But she very well could be eating from the hay left in the round pen last summer and not coming up.
Afternoon Update:
I swear I cried when I got home today and I do not cry often. I don't know who did it for sure, but I have my suspicions, so I called him at home to thank him and left a message on his phone recorder. My driveway all the way from the gate, the main turnaround and clear up the barns/woodshed were all plowed out. I am so grateful. All I had to do was shovel out the walkways to the cabin. That saved me at least 20 hours of shoveling. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I went out back and saw evidence the horse is still on the property. She is not too hungry as she is just picking at the hay. I knew she wouldn't come to me if I called her. I swear my cats are like dogs and my horse is like a cat.
The windshield wipers were the right ones. Apparently it never occurred to Rob or I, that you have to break parts off a new item to get it to work properly. Who knew? I can see out the windshield again!
