October 18, 2007 - Thursday

his is a rainforest on the island, so it did what it does best and rain since Tuesday, (and would continue for the rest of my trip until I hit the high desert). We walked the trails regardless and I remembered I have a love/hate relationship with rain. After our very low humidity where I live, my skin was drinking up the high humidity and my eczema reduced dramatically within days.

Since all the members were here still, it was another D&D game. Spaghetti dinner this time and the garlic was not out of place. Music is everywhere and someone is always picking up a guitar or playing an mp3 on the computer. Usually both. My "character" was starting to gain more confidence in being creative. I think they still wanted to maybe ditch me somewhere however. I did find out that my character would continue to be played after I left, so maybe they did like her after all.

One of my friends, Gerald, builds, teaches and also holds  classes on how to make native drums. He is of the Cree Nation and is having a class soon on how to make these native drums, so if you are interested in taking a class to learn how to make these really cool drums, send him an email to find out where he will hold his next class. These are just a few of the ones he makes.
