April 6, 2008
ell, it is showering, but it is not quite rain, but not quite snow pellet/hail
either. But it looks like April Showers coming down as the sun is shining as it
is doing whatever it is doing. I have 8 inch ruts in my driveway. I will have
to fix those after the rains and melt-down ceases and before the ground turns
into concrete.
The 4 turkey hens (2 heirloom, 2 Broad Breasted Bronze) are starting to lay. I need to procure a tom however. In the meanwhile, turkey eggs are quite tasty. And if a tom doesn't happen this year, there is always next year.
In
my internet travels for work today, in looking up 'tax day' I came across,
weirdly enough, this lovely cob cottage that I wanted to share with you. Cob
houses are inexpensive to make and hold up well, even in rainy Oregon and
Washington States. Evidently this one is in one of my favorite parks in Oregon,
Tryon Creek State Park and built last year. This park is one of the last places
I hiked with my search dog "Tia" before she died.
Eight more days until I can drop one job! ~~Yippeeee!!~~
