inus
25 (yes, -25C/-13F), when I woke up this morning. It was a little chilly in the
house and the pellet stove had run out of pellets sometime during the night,
even though I filled it yesterday. I filled it and then crawled back into bed,
back under the down comforter with a few cats. The kitchen sink water has
frozen. Which is part of the reason the kitchen will be next to remodel, as one
pipe is pretty much exposed. It is supposed to be -30C tonight.
I have the cupboard under the sink open and hope that some of the heat will unfreeze it. I am not holding my breathe though. There is something to be said about INSULATION!!! Why on earth anyone in Canada would have ever built a house without any, is beyond comprehension to me. But they tell me that electric was cheap up here when the house was built and there are actually quite a few homes in the area which do not have any insulation.
My home on the farm has 10" of insulation in the ceiling and 6" in the walls. No wonder it would stay super warm if the woodstove got roaring, which would heat the house up to +40C/104F and I would have to open windows in the winter.
Last night we were invited out to a friend's for dinner and had a Spanish dish called 'Pia'. It is like a one pot meal with rice, peas, chicken, shrimp, mussels, clams and a bunch of other things in it. it is very good and I am glad she made alot of it, as she sent the extra home with us. With the kitchen water being frozen, it will make dinner tonight easier.
Bren
went to work again today for a couple hours like he did yesterday. He is
finishing up some prototype for a door he designed for Monday, as some sales
reps are coming to look at it. I sometimes work at this shoppe as well doing
sanding and such. I am learning alot. I have NO IDEA what he is building in the
photo. Lasse took the pic before he went back to Denmark.
Today I have to work all
day on the newspaper stuff as production day is tomorrow.

You know you can recycle more than you do. So can I. I have not quite got the recycling station set up here yet, but as soon as the lumber for building is out of the way, then I will have a spot.
