ack Frost came to visit last night. He made beautiful patterns on the windows. It is still very cold out, some people reporting -35C in the area.

In English folklore, Jack Frost appears as an elfish creature who personifies crisp, cold, winter weather; a variant of Father Winter (also known as "Old Man Winter"). Some believe this representation originated in Viking folklore.

Tradition holds Jack Frost responsible for leaving frosty crystal patterns on windows on cold mornings (window frost or fern frost).

Due to shutting the curtains at night, the windows are frosting up. I like natural light, so I try to open a couple of them during the day so I do not have to use any indoor lighting.

Last night I soldered up some of the bathroom piping. I do not suggest you do it in your PJ's and bare feet, but I did anyway. Bren said I needed a break from the newspaper as I had been frustrated, as I telecommute and the internet in the area was down. I ended up staying up working until 3 am on it. But we got the new shower connections all soldered up.

Today's Act of Green:

Air-Dry Clothes

It’s not just your washing machine that uses a lot of energy. Your dryer is one of the biggest contributors to your monthly electricity bill. They are energy pigs, no doubt about it. Save some money and reduce your carbon footprint by letting clothes air dry. Try a clothesline in your backyard, or use collapsible clothes racks.
