fter
an excellent breakfast at the B&B, we were on our way to the jobsite. The man
whom we were
working
for was wonderful and even baked the various crews working at his home chocolate cookies
with goodies in them. That was very nice of him. The hardship of the whole job
was looking out all the windows overlooking the mountains and lakes all
day.
When I was not running
and getting this & that for Bren, I played with my new camera to see what
all the bells and whistles on it were. I did not even know they made such things
for cameras. I was talking to the man who owned the house about it and how I was
waiting for the various lights as the sun came up over the mountains and playing
with the light & camera.
Imagine my embarrassment a couple hours later when I asked the owner what he did. He is a phenomenal professional photographer and does photos for the Olympics for 2010. When I told him I was slightly embarrassed about talking about lighting this morning, he said he liked hearing about what 'hobbist' photographers like me do and was interested in how the lighting I interpret differently from where I live and the light here, due to the steeper/closer mountains changed what I normally would do for my photos. Photos in the magazine from now on are going to be awesome!!
We (mostly Bren) got all
of the upstairs repairs done. Well, technically they are not really repairs. The
owner ordered more of the same things from Bren's company when he added on an
addition to his home and he wanted the new ones to match the old ones after they
were already installed, so that is what we are doing. The owner did not realize
that Bren's company no longer offered something as the 'norm', and Bren's
company did not realize the 'new style' was not going to match the 'old style'
they did for this guy four years ago. But it is all worked out now.
Dinner tonight was at
the Brewhouse, a place that Rupert & Sarah (the honeymooning couple),
recommended to us last night. It was quite fun and Bren was all ga-ga about
trains afterwards. He loves steam engines. The
Brewhouse is named that, as it
really is a brewery. Bren sampled two of their ales. I like going out to good
dinners, as I mentally pick the food apart to see if it is something I can
duplicate back at home. Bren and I always order separate types of foods, then we
share, to be able to taste test more then we would have otherwise.
