5:32am

want to take this bed from the B&B with me. I have slept so well in it, I have had the best sleep I have had for weeks. No highway noise, no cats, no snoring housemates. I fell asleep soon after dinner and blogging last night about 8:30pm. So I woke up at 5 am, which it is a little after now.

When I was playing with my camera yesterday, I finally got out the book to see what all these unusual settings on the camera were and found I could isolate colours. I took a photo of a very colorful hand crocheted afghan laying on the couch where we are working and then learned how to isolate the colours as I took the photo. Even the professional guys' camera does not do that. So I was having fun with that between running errands. I need to figure out how to run the camera perfectly, as I am also taking photos for the boss of the many houses they have done down here for their website.

Linda - I even tried a bean last night at dinner when Bren ordered some. However I determined I still hate them. But I did eat edamame, which are steamed soybeans with sesame oil, salt and sesame seeds on it. I liked those. I have "Envy" soybean seed at home, that I have grown out in my garden before, but I did not actually know what to do with them. Now I do. I was ignoring the fact they were probably Monstano soybeans at the table last night.

Another thing I discovered at dinner last night...I usually only drink water with lemon or plain juice when I am out for meals. If you have an issue with  ingesting Aspartame or NutraSweet, do ask if the juice contains any aspartame, as I have been finding out lately that lemonaide and some other juices, such as the cranberry I ordered last night, are laden with aspartame, I could taste it! Why the juice companies started doing this, I have no idea. But I am starting to ask before I order my juice now. If they don't know, I just have my water with lemon.

Evening Update: 8:37pm

My job today was to drive around a town I had no idea where anything was and sneakily take photos of about 40 homes (out of the hundreds) that Bren & his company have built over the years for their portfolio they are updating. The have built many, but there were special things about these that they wanted to showcase.

It was pretty fun actually. Something different to do. Many of the houses were very high up in the mountains, but other than the view, I was not overly impressed by them. Too large for one thing. My favorite ones I put parts of them on here tonight.

There were a few of the homes which looked like they belonged to the landscape and fit in well. Others, the way they were finished, just looked like they did not belong on the land, but ought to be in Italy or Spain or somewhere, anywhere but a mountain retreat in B.C.! I really have a 'thing' for wood and stone though.

The weather has been marvelous and the mountains are shining in their wintertime glory. However, it is difficult until we head back home to get very good photos without powerlines or houses in them.

Dinner tonight was at the Dubh Linn Gate Pub and it was very good. I would recommend it. I had the Crab Bisque with Guinness Cream & Fresh Crabmeat, with a Baby Mozzarella Brocconcini melted with roasted tomatoes, basil pesto, drizzled with Balasamic syrup on grilled Ciabatta bread. Bren had something which sounded way less exotic, Shepherd's pie, but it was filling enough that he couldn't even finish it. This is the guy with the hollow legs!
