January 6, 2008

t is still very warm out. It is very much above average temperature during the day and water is dripping off the eaves of the house from the small amounts of snow left on the roof. Most of it came crashing down to the ground in the last two days. It is 'unusual' we have been having such 'high' temperatures here. When all the snow came off the shop roof, it came crashing down on the temporary rail fence gate in the barn area and took out 3 rails. Nothing was broken, just moved, but I could not believe how deep the snow was. There had been alot of snow on the roofs. It took a friend's boyfriend to help me pull the rails out from the weight of the snow when we discovered it. The goat was not into the hay today, but it was now "Blossom's" turn. I am glad they are little animals as they have not done any damage to my hay supply.

I have a semi truck lined up for hauling my hay here next summer when it is freshly cut during haying season. It has been my plan for building a hay shed (and have the roof slope to the back) for quite some time now . I believe I have the materials, including roofing to accomplish that (whether I get to it this summer or not is a different story). Another annoying and ugly thing which needs to be destroyed and done properly is the gate out to the back 40. I believe I also have most of the materials here for that as well. The gate which is there is difficult, not too safe and not too animal proof. Thus far is has worked, but it has needed replaced since I moved here. But those are summer projects ideas I am working on. If the back 40 gate is easy to put together, another one will soon go into the barnyard area and replace the temporary pole fence, which is rather a pain.

I went back in my stats for the website and found another website who took some of my blog and made it their own. In this case I do not mind, as it gets the word out about rBGH.

I picked up a 6th dog for my team yesterday. He is not mine permanently, but I feel better being able to run the almost 100 miles with that little extra dog power. Now I just need to find more time to train them. I plan on running them late tonight after all my work is done for the day.
