"Like a red morn that ever yet betokened, Wreck to the seaman, tempest to the field, Sorrow to the shepherds, woe unto the birds, Gusts and foul flaws to herdmen and to herds.”
~ William Shakespeare in his play, Venus and Adonis.

sky this morning when I woke up. The picture really doesn't do the fleet reality
of
it
justice. But it was quite beautiful. Usually 'red in the morning, sailor's
warning', (see the Summer or Fall 2007 issue for weather lore), and the
weatherman is indeed calling for moderate winds and a rain-snow mix. I am not
convinced it will rain on the mountain here, but down lower it might.
"Crystal" my milk goat must be in heat or something, she was whining all night and this morning. I got up, got dressed and went out to see what her problem was at 1 am. She looked at me like "What?!" The calf blinked at me and the headlamp. I checked everyone over to make sure they were ok. No one else was saying anything other than "Crystal", who became quiet when I was up there and started again the second I was back in my toasty bed. I opened the window, made sure she was not being eaten by coyotes and mock threatened to feed her to them if she didn't shut her mouth. It made no impression on her. After I put the pillow over my head, I heard her no more until I went outside this morning.
