he day was beautiful, the temperature at -11C/12F. The perfect recipe for running dogs. Even tonight the moon is beyond magnificent for running them. But I was stuck inside working from 8 am to 9 pm. I entertained the thought of hitting the big trails tonight, for a run from 9 to midnight to get miles on the dogs, but I have not run them enough during the day to feel very comfortable running them at night alone on the bush trails. I might wake up at 5 am to run them. I am so running out of time. The last 2 weeks time warped somewhere.

My company should be arriving in a few days for the sled dog event. I am excited. I am upset I did not get to train my dogs more than I have. There just wasn't any time. It will be a slow go as I will not push them, but I have confidence that we will do just fine, we have before. It is not a race, so we can take as many breaks as we require. I am thinking it may be me more than the dogs who will need a break however. But I will be happy to have my company here again.

It is currently -16C/3F. I went out to do chores tonight and had to turn off my headlamp as it was doing little or no good with all the wonderful moonshine light. I went up to put 'Blossom's' earmuffs back on and check the poultry. "Blossom' begrudgingly accepted them on her head tonight. I really need to make a larger pair and the poultry were pretty toasty warm in their barn. I hung out in there for a bit to warm up my hands.

Tonight would be a perfect moonlight walk through the woods for lovers hand-in-hand. The best I could do was 'Cyrus' and me on a short walk this night. I really should have been wearing a hat and gloves, but I was not planning on being out that long. I even broke down and plugged my pickup's block heater in tonight. I suspect it will get pretty cold with the clear skies.

I am just checking messages and eating frozen raspberries before bedtime.
