lena brought me a lovely gift while she came up. I like it as it is wonderful, unique and so simple at the same time. It is a handmade 'book'. Page after page you just want to turn, read and feel. Yes, feel. Each page has the types of the hairs/wools, that the page is talking about. She also left me some lovely handspun she did on her wheel. Thank you Elena.. it is quite marvelous!

The weather has warmed up a bit. A heatwave this morning of -20C/-4F. The wind still hurts my face a bit and I cannot stay out too long. But I am happy to report I look pretty much like my normal self.

My truck started normally, I plowed out the driveway, got the new heater in the pumphouse, brought down a sled's worth of firewood, checked the animals and made it to town by 9:30am. It was an excellent day!

Tonight, coming home, was is nice to note that the days are noticeably becoming longer.
