July 29, 2008

he last couple of mornings have looked and smelled like Fall. It monsooned again last night, but this morning it was only 9C/48F at 6 am. None of the animals are getting winter coats yet, so I guess it is alright. All of the dogs are blowing coat, as well as "Crystal" whom I never got around to her yearly shave. "Joey" the cat got cold last night however and crawled under the covers with me. He was moderately better than a hot water bottle. I have not had to add that extra blanket yet.

Tonight for dinner will be a salad make from items out of the garden, greenhouse and henhouse. 'Red Sails' lettuce with celery, herbs, a couple snow peas, 'Watermelon' radishes and a hard boiled egg or two. I will have to make up some kind of salad dressing.. decisions.. decisions. And of course fresh bread and butter. Not quite cold enough to make a hearty soup though. I love my soups. It always makes me feel good to have my meals from the land here.

I am sure this fog will burn off by noon... it has the last few days.
