icked thunderstorm last night. Now I love thunderstorms and used to lay on the
back of the couch when I was young to be able to watch the night sky in Oregon.
Usually here where I live now, we do not get thunderstorms when it is dark, only
during the day as it starts to cool off or other disturbed weather.
After the very bright sheet type lightening, (I think.... I was trying to sleep and saw most of them through my eyelids) the long rolling thunder went on and on. 'Cyrus' who never leaves the front door when he is in at night, bolted into my bedroom. After kicking him out twice, I relented, but I told him he was banished if he ended up on my bed. No way a 160 pound dog is going to take up 7/8 of my bed! After the slow moving storm ended about 1 am, 'Cyrus' chose to go back to his spot by the door. I do have to admit, it was a pretty good storm, so I can't blame him for wanting a bit of company. I think I fell asleep before the 'show' was over though.
I do worry about lightening strikes however, as over 100 wildfires could have been started last night. That happened last year in one night from one such storm. I am sure I will hear about it soon if there were.
The pigs are gaining and drinking SO much water each ! I finally smartened up last night and instead of holding the hose for 20-30 minutes a couple times a day, I utilized some baling twine and a couple knots and have tied the hose into the watering drum, so I am free to go about and do other chores, etc. A friend had a wedding last weekend and last night they gave me alot of goodies for the piggies. There were alot of fruit and veggies left. I also had a chance to mow the lawn and grass clippings went to the pigs and chickens as well.
Cloudy and windy tonight, thunderstorms and rain possible today. 7C/44F here at 6 am this morning.
