The Thunderstorm

As the sparkling drops start to fall from the sky.
We all, in silence, keep a watchful eye.

The peaceful rain, the splashing sound,
The soothing pitter-patter on the ground.

There's a glowing streak that goes so fast.
The deafening BOOM of thunder's blast.

Old mother nature's getting a drink,
With raindrops dancing, tink-tink.

The icy cold changes the way it falls,
And the hail comes down like mis-shaped balls.

The thunder calms the lightning as well,
We are relived when the last raindrop fell.

The rain and the thunder have been gone for hours,
But soon we will have more summer showers.

It has been chilly at night. About 4+C/39F when I wake up. I started a fire in the house woodstove the last couple nights. I will have to see what the greenhouse goes down to each night now that I have tomatoes and peppers in there. I have had it get down to 0.8C/33F night after night a couple years ago and then to +40C/104F that same day and incredibly those were the best year I have ever grown tomatoes. I made sure to save seeds from those poor plants! I have to replace the 90 degree elbow on the woodstove in there, as it is rotted clean through, which is also why I did not put anything into the greenhouse until later this year as well as wanting to get the raised beds done.

Both the June bearing (Canadian translation 'July Bearing') and the Everbearing Strawberries have started to bloom (as well as some wild ones I have noted). I am planning on jam and frozen berries already.
