inally it is summer!! I even wore shorts all day! That is something rather rare actually. It was in the low 30's C today. These white legs of mine saw some sun today (with  tidge of Nature's Gate suntan lotion, just in case).

The kittens are growing. This one kept crawling up anyone they could reach and since their claws do not retract yet, it HURTS!! One of my friends popped the kitten into the quart jar to make it stay still for a second (which lasted about a second). They just started on some 'solid' food yesterday. I am glad as I have been bottle feeding around the clock about every 3-4 hours. Last night they slept all night though. Worked for me. All of them are spoken for now.. but they can't go to their new homes for 2-3 weeks yet. No worries.. it looks like a tight fit in the quart jar, but it is pressed against the side climbing out. There was probably enough room for 2 kittens, but I wouldn't let anyone try that theory out. This brown tabby male is pals with me and sleeps with me on couch when I am working on the computer. I meant he sleeps.. not myself.

With the three day weekend and the nice summer days, farmers and ranchers have been cutting hay since Friday. Everywhere I have gone in my travels there is hay down, lay in rows, hay being turned, hay being baled or being taken from the fields. I was actually surprised to see a couple fields being done in square bales. It is not common up here for that size (or shape) of bale. My hay is already ordered for the year and I will be picking it up in a few weeks.
