and I almost did ourselves in finishing up the house at the farm yesterday, but
we got it all done in the middle of a wet snowstorm. Another thing accomplished
which I do not have to worry about or take time to deal with. The new people
were moving in hours after we got done.
Thankfully I found the magazine CD's which I need to print off more magazines. It would have been a word worse than anything I could think of if it had gotten packed. Now I can print off back issues! The magazine files are too huge to keep on my computer, so they have to be taken off. I am going to burn 3 copies of each and put one set into the safety deposit box. There is no way I can duplicate them again if I had to start from scratch.
The
other thing I forgot to add in my haste in blogging yesterday is that
Wednesday night Bren and I took two hours in the evening and went to an
Eco-Fair. We talked to the guy at one booth who deals with solar/wind power and
it looks like the setup we need will cost less than I figured it would. The
salesman who also helps decides what is the right set up for your needs agreed
that we would need a hybrid solar/wind system. The
fair focused attention on "green technologies" and innovative
environmental strategies to deal with our rapidly changing planet and natural
resources. There were lots of displays and information booths showcasing their
specific expertise in the environmental area, including the farmer's market and
how to and where to buy local foods. I have the flier taped to the refrigerator
now. I won a recycled kitchen rug and a pair of lead free ladybug candles, Bren
won a solar calculator. I loved the feel of the carpet
which is made from corn. I will have to look into that a little more.
As I am typing this, the freezing rains have started at 6:42am. I can hear it hitting against the window. It has gotten cooler and I had to add the down comforter to the bed last night. Both K and I were hurting badly last night from packing stuff in two days which should have taken three or four. My back where I had been injured was causing me alot of pain. As soon as I got to my new home, I broke down, took two Tylenols, the hottest shower I could stand and then crawled into bed.
Today after it is light, I have to unload the final load from my old home out of the back of my truck this morning and then probably work on the new bathroom with Bren. Then this evening work on the magazine when the house is quiet.
