was talking to Bren today about that I was going to need some hobbies to do
during the
winter
at his place, as I would potentially go stark raving mad from the lack of
chores, lack of running dogs, lack of my spinning wheel/looms. I was talking
knitting and he came up with the smart idea of doing something for the cabin
before we built and moved into
it.
He does stained glass,
so today he bought some of the tools he did not have previously so
we can do them
for our kitchen
cupboards. We have
not chosen a pattern/s yet, but I found a couple that I like. The jury is still
out on what we will finally start working on. On a couple of them he asked,
"Do you realize how many pieces that is??". I told him everyone
thought I was insane for starting to knitting socks before I even knew what knit
and purl was and that I always tend to try the hardest things first. It's just
me.
While I was working from
early this morning until mid-afternoon for the paper, the guys continued on the
Fall cleaning at his house which had been started a few weekends ago. I told them that
chemical housecleaners were bad, that I could hardly breathe and I have only
used borax, vinegar, salt and
lemon
juice for my house for years.
Bren found out that maybe chemical cleaners are not the way to go. His complexion got a little blotchy.. for at least 5 hours thus far after he was using them. All of his face, neck and arms turned red and blotchy where his skin was exposed. I asked him what was wrong and he is the one who blamed the chemicals. Since then we have had a discussion on which cleansers he could live without and which ones he thought he needed. He did pick the less smelly ones which are less hazardous without my encouragement. I noted alot of the chemicals had multiple sides to the warning label. The more sides there are, the more toxic the product.
