while
back ago (like months ago) someone had told someone else about something I had written about and
she then had me send it to her via email. Yesterday I received a package in the
mail from said lady.. I did not realize at the time what the lady did for a
job...
I am now published in the British Columbia Biodiversity Centre for Wildlife Studies report about an owl I had reported on last year. I think it is pretty awesome to be able to contribute to their study to continue to help wildlife. I am getting info on how to help them more.
This is at least the second journal I have helped gather information for. The other was in a 'bug journal' for an odd beetle which had only been seen in Canada three times ever previously, which I had found a whole colony of and took pictures which got the bug guys pretty excited as it has never been seen before. They then had me catch a couple for them. The only reason I sent a photo off to the guy I know to be an entomologist is I was pretty sure they were not a Ladybug, even though they sorta looked like one, but I wanted to make sure they were not going to eat my heirloom vegetables. I was glad I did. I would tell you what they are called, but even the bug expert could not pronounce the name, so I do not dare even try.
9am Update:
First snow at my new home. The flakes are about the size of chicken feathers, so that means it is pretty warmish out. I do not think it has started to stick yet, but I am keeping my eyes held to the higher elevations, although I think as the day progresses it will turn to rain.
I have my dogsled here and I plan on utilizing 'Cyrus' to do my wintertime errands. There are many footpaths in this town, so we should be able to stay away from traffic. I can just see the curious onlookers already as we pull into the local store and I 'park' him at the bicycle rack. Even though I am not running my full team this year, at least I can still get out on my sled.
I got my truck sent out to have the winter tires put on. This was the last round for my summer tires and I have various ideas on how to recycle them. Since there is 4, perhaps I can make at least 4 different projects from them. I am getting new rims for my summer tires I have to buy next year, so then I can change and rotate them by myself.
