Since I cannot quite blog yet, as I do not have the programs I need for it on
this computer, I will post here and then transfer them over to the proper spot
when I am able.

June 7, 2009
My day started lazy. I
loitered in bed with the sun coming in and the cool soft
summer breeze coming through the house, knowing it would warm up soon enough.
When I turned over, I had to wedge myself between two sleeping cats.
"Watson"
doesn't weight much, so from time to time I accidently launch him rudely off the
bed. "Joey" would take a forklift to move an inch however, but he is
warm. My
own personal heating pad. But I laid there for so long as I was enjoying
listening to the birds and the wind. Wondering if I will have this much quiet
ever again. I am sad to leave but happy to move on.
When I finally got out of the luxury of bed, I set myself to the task of
untangling and rolling up 1,400 feet of soaker hoses for shipping to the states
before the day got too hot. When we threw them out of the back of the truck
during the move from a month ago, we just chucked them out by the garden and
they turned into a massive snarl. Yesterday I had to go to town and I wore a
'girly' top and burnt my neck and shoulders. Today at least, I was smart and
wore my gardening hat outside so I did not fry my scalp as I normally do at the
start of each summer.
I am starting to pack up and sort things out for what stays and what goes as the
new owners said I could leave anything I wanted behind for them. I did forget to
tell them about the full sized pig roaster here. That is definately staying... I
am taking a freezer full of meat to a friend as I cannot cross the border with
it. He will get the end of "Daisy".
Later today I will till the garden once more to use up the fuel in the tank and
get the potatoes in for the new owners.
Yesterday I went to town to go pick up meat for the sleddogs and I stopped by
the Highland Games and the Logger Sports. I didn't get to see the caber tossing,
but I did get to see the burling, which is the men running on the logs on water.
(Psssst.. the two I watched were not very good -- not saying I could do any
better).
I also went to say goodbye to many friends. I probably stayed at N's house the
longest and took pictures of her and her family for my scrapbook. I have a few
more people to stop by as well. If you read this, live nearby and don't see me,
I promise I did not mean to slight you!!
Other friends are stopping by to pick things up I am giving them and dropping
off moving boxes. They wanted to pay me, but I told them to stop being
ridiculous. I am happy to give them these things. Some of them are the antique
french doors and windows I was going to put into my writing cabin.. and which
they are going to put into their cabin. I also gave them a couple of wood stoves
for their cabins. One I would have really liked to have restored as it is almost
a classic potbelly, but oh well.. another day.. another woodstove. I am taking
my 1860's early box 2 burner cookstove however and it will be restored one day.
It has lovely patterns of grapes and hearts on it. In its time, it must have
been a very fancy model.
I called another friend today, "City Boy", and told him that he has to
come get
his (DEAD)pickup truck and he said he will be out this week to get it. He is sad
I am leaving. We have become good friends in the last 2 years. Funny to think I
may not ever see him again. He better pick up his llama too. I wonder if he can
put "Larry" in the front seat to go *L*.. (kidding!).
I am still house hunting. There are a couple contenders.. but I want to keep
looking a bit more. I keep getting calls about this farm from people who want
it, even when I tell them it has sold, they told me to put them on the list in
case it falls through.
But I really don't want to move twice, as I am just getting more of a belly and
noticing it is annoying to lean over these days (*L*), so I really want to find
a place soon and have my moving over and done with before long.
On the baby front, it is now moving around now this last week. I was not too
keen on it at first, as I think people lied when they thought it was so cool and
neat of a feeling. This child must be related to me, as it seemed as if it was
wrapping its arms around my bladder and then jumping up and down on it for 12
hrs. I am happy to report, it is not doing that any longer and I am getting the
tap-tap-pokepoke, goldfish-swimming-sensation everyone was telling me about
before.. NOW I think it is neat. The first two days I really didn't and
understood why pregnant horse kick their stomachs (payback). My next ultrasound
is next week. That will be #4, so I have a few pics of this baby already. The
last one s/he is sticking its tongue out at us.. cheeky little begger.
Ok.. I have cooled off again, so I better get back to it. I loitered in the
house doing laundry, dishes and other mundane chores long enough. Better the
heat than the mosquitos. There must have been 100 of them on my bedroom window
screen last night. UGH. They couldn't get in, but I shut my window regardless.
