Since I cannot quite blog yet, as I do not have the programs I need for it on
this computer, I will post here and then transfer them over to the proper spot
when I am able.

---------------

I think it has been monsooning with the occasional tease of a blue sky every now
and then for the last 3 days. I have been able to work in the greenhouse some
and got rid of a pile of debris at the back part of the ravine which as been
floating around the place since I bought it. It just finally annoyed me enough
and I had time to deal with it.

I was going to pick up my rototiller from where it has been stored since last
fall, but lack of people to help lift it up (not a problem getting it unloaded)
and all the rains has made Saturday or Sunday looking better.

To get my calcium intake, I made coconut ice cream last night and had the
woodstove going. Bratwursts and home grown asparagus for dinner both cooked on
the woodstove. I always think anything cooked on the woodstove just tastes
better.

Tomorrow I am getting my seed bag back. I have never let it out of my sight
until about a month and a half ago, as I knew it would be safer with T. than
where I was. I am up to over 471 varieties of heirloom vegetable seed now and I
would be SOOOOO upset if anything ever happened to it. No, I don't plant
everything in it out, but it is more like a seed bank and anyone who does want
something out of it, I let them take a start. I also have taken alot of
donations this year. Close to 100 more than I had last year. T. is probably the
only person and the best person who understands what that bag represents since
she is the head of many Food Policy Councils in the province of British Columbia
and works as a food nutritionist for the government.

I am still unpacking and finding this and that which I have not seen in 8 months
or more. There are a few things I am weeding out in case I do move back to the
States and it is fun putting my home together again. It is nice to make fresh
homemade bread again and not have someone complain about it.

Each week I go to my pre-natal classes and luncheon. Today they had corn
chowder, but I think mine is better, but theirs was different too with some kind
of sausage in it. There was also hot out of the oven cheese bisquits to go with
it. For not having an appetite for awhile and hating to cook just for myself, it
is nice to let someone else cook for you and it is always a surprise when you
get there. It is usually good food and the people are very nice. I am even
getting hooked up with a doula.

It is still cool enough here that the woodstove is required at least every other
day. I did have the house up to 80F last night (and it was TOO hot), but now it
feels chilly.. or maybe I left the bedroom window open for the cats... (brb..
gonna check). I need to build another one here before evening comes.

My vacuum cleaner is sucking in the way it was not intended to.. which means it
isn't. So I have been staring at it for the last 48 hours where it is laying
upside down in the middle of the livingroom for when I feel like tearing the
darn thing apart. Maybe tonight...and watch a comedy DVD movie.

I am pretty sure a bear or something was in the yard last night. There should
not be any bear attractant, unless the sleddogs started to bury their food as
they are not very hungry at this time of the year. So I try to feed them light
when they are not working. But they kept going off and 'Cyrus' kept pacing and
rumbling about it in the house for about 2 hours. With no moon and it being so
black outside that when I turned the lights off in the house, I had no idea
where the window was even standing next to it. It was that dark. I am not too
worried about bear in my yard as after all, this is their home too and with
logging going on, I have noticed way more moose on my land than in years past.
So it is logical that the bear are getting pushed here as well.

I got some free range eggs from one of my friends the other day and tonight I
believe I will have french toast for dinner as it just sounds good.
