Since I cannot quite blog yet, as I do not have the programs I need for it on
this computer, I will post here and then transfer them over to the proper spot
when I am able.
---------------
I got my rototiller back
from friends on Sunday and anticipated breaking ground
and instead woke up to snow coming down for 4 hours yesterday. The weatherman
called for snow last night, but it never manifested (and on the radio right now,
he said it was hitting the higher elevations and passes as I type this). Mom
called this morning to brag it was in the 80F's there. I know she is trying to
entice me south. It is unusual for it to be this cold this time of the year.
I have one more load to take to the dump today and then I am mostly out of
debris from around here. The rest is burnable to bonfires. This pile is one I
have created here from when the hog fence was destroyed. At least I have it in
one pile, but winter came before I could deal with it last Fall.
Tonight for dinner it sounds like a good soup day, so I think I am going to have
the chicken tortilla soup I so love and make some bread sticks. Last night I
made homemade orange sorbet.
ORANGE SORBET
1 cup sugar
1 cup of water
Boil 1 minute
4 oranges peeled and blended up
Water or orange juice to create 4 cups total of liquid
Add to the sugar solution. Cool in the refrigerator for 1 hour and then either
put into a ice cream maker or in a bowl in the fridge and stir every now and
again.
Enjoy!
This morning, I have to turn off the power to the electrical panel and replace a
fuse. It is not 100% necessary yet, but want to take care of it before it is.
After I get back from the dump I need to fill the firewood sling. It is not that
cold in the house, but am really addicted to the wood heat from the woodstove
after not having it for so long.
