very few years I am plagued with a streak of bad luck which lasts a couple of weeks. I have found over the years and about five episodes of going though this bad streak, that there is nothing to do but sit back and ride it out. The good news is that this doesn't happen each and every year and sometimes skips a few years in a row.. after time has passed it even makes for some humorous stories and makes you appreciate the rest of the time much more. But this is about the third week of this round of ill luck.

For instance the newest segment in this year's streak is something that you can learn a bit from perhaps. Usually part of my daily routine is checking to make sure the meat freezer light is on. With the rest of the chaos which has been going on for the last couple of weeks, that little tiny routine has gone by the wayside.

I have now been cooking up a storm such as which someone cooking for all branches of the holidays has not seen unless they too have had all of their meat in the freezer thaw. I have thus far cooked 10 whole chickens, 1 twenty pound turkey, working on a 15 pound salmon, and then the odds and ends of beef and all of my pork. You are not supposed to re-freeze thawed meat, that said, you can if it was thawed in a certain way and then refrozen. But I have chosen to play it safe and cook all of it. So I will be having alot of 'instant' dinners for quite some time. I have/will have cooked an estimated two hundred pounds of meat by the time I am done.

The breaker in the house kicked off the line to where the freezer and spare refrigerator is kept. So thankfully there is nothing wrong with the freezer.
