have a love-hate relationship with the Canadian post office. When I saw this
headline, I thought for sure it must have been sent from Canada...

HUDSON, Ohio - A woman's postcard bearing greetings from Montana has finally arrived in northeastern Ohio - 47 years later. Insurance agent Dave Conn opened his post office box in Hudson last week and found the mailing sent from Helena, Mont., in 1962.It was sent to Marion White, the previous renter of the box, who died in 1988.
The writer signed the postcard "Fran" and mentioned having "had a marvelous time in Montana."
After asking around, Conn says he determined the card must have come from White's well-traveled friend Frances Murphey, a longtime reporter at the Akron Beacon Journal newspaper who died in 1998 at age 75.
U.S. Postal Service spokesman Victor Dubina says the postcard may have been stuck in equipment or lost behind a mail chute.
I still have multiple sacks of magazines lurking around the world somewhere which never did get returned to me nor sent to the subscriber, so I had to send doubles of everything out. Once it took 5 months for a package to make it to Australia and another time, 4 magazines took four months to make it to Alberta, which is only about 7 hours drive from where I mailed them. Canada Post has cost me alot of money over the years. I liked when I dropped them off in the States when I was down there last September. I have actually thought about driving to the border, find the first US Post office, drop off the orders and then go stay the night with Bren's mom. Cheaper and more reliable. So maybe those few whole bags of lost magazines may show up almost 50 years from now. Geesh!
When I woke up this morning to let 'Cyrus' out, snow the size of chicken feathers was floating down. It was a pretty good flurry happening. 'Cyrus' was happy romping in the snow, sending it flying upward from the ground. My truck is completely white (the ground already was, so that doesn't count).
I was completely uninspired for dinner last night, so we had a hodge-podge dinner, but it hit all the main food groups, including the 'junk food' category. I figured one is entitled every now and again. So thusly we had whole wheat crackers with half an avocado, half a long English cuke, cheese squares, mini egg rolls and gyoza. Complete with organic blueberry-pomegranate juice. Yeah, it sounded like a lame dinner, but actually looked nice and colorful on a plate and was tasty to a bored palate. However, I better step it up tonight maybe an organic chicken? But maybe we are going over to a friends and cook for them for once.. there was vague discussion of that last night between parties and I was not there to hear it.
My tomatoes are finally coming up. The house has been a bit cold for them with the pellet stove being wonky, so they germinated a bit slower than I was originally anticipating. I keep eyeballing the heating pad that Bren had on his back the other night and thought about putting that under the trays for a day or so. Tomatoes and peppers love bottom heat. The herbs and brassicas right like the cold, so they are coming up in leaps and bounds. Better get on those cold frames soon.
My black eye from 'Cyrus' is looking a little better. Still a couple scratches in my lower lash line.
Not to much else to report on today. It may just be a quiet weekend.
