I have spent the last few days painting my house. It has been needing to be done since I bought it, but last October is when I started on it with some friends as that was the only available time I had one weekend. But it turned out to be too  and the paint was freezing as we were applying it and so we gave up after 2 hard fought exterior walls. So I got out the paint bucket, rolled it around on the lawn for awhile to mix it up and then in trying to be careful and not overdo it, I spent two days on the rootcellar side of the house and today got one coat on the backside of the house before it started to pour rain. I was hemming and hawing if I should even attempt it today, but I JUST squeeked by with one coat, except for one little spot at the highest peak as I do not have a ladder here and have not made one yet.

Did you know you can freeze your paint brushes and rollers and they do not need to be cleaned? Just pick right back up where you stopped as soon as you thaw them out, which doesn't take long. I do that with varnish brushed as well.

I got a couple rounds on the garden with the tiller and one more and I ought to be able to plant a few things, such as turnips and snow peas.

Since I have none of my three lawnmowers anymore and my yard is starting to look like field grass, I am going to check the fencelines around the house tomorrow and kick the horse and cow into the yard. They will have about 2-3 acres to mow and it will give the 'back 40' a break to grow some more again.

With the rains, it feels like a woodstove and baking day. A friend down the way gave me some Amish Friendship Bread and I am supposed to bake it today, but it will have to wait until tomorrow as I am out of milk and I have no milk animal at the moment. I am thinking about heading down to Chasm and picking up purebred Nubian doe and buck that the lady doesn't want to kill out of her herd of a couple hundred, that a friend of hers told me about. With all the goats I have ever had, I have never had a full blood Nubian, although I am a softy for ears.
