My brother and sister-in-law came over tonight to meet their niece on a typical rainy Oregon night and had chicken dinner with us. My brother used to play 1st chair cello in a symphony for 9 years and he told her that he would teach her how to play his cello when she was a bit bigger. My mother's significant other is ready to teach her how to golf as soon as she can hold a club. It also may not be a bad thing for her to learn Japanese, Nepali, Spanish as well as English, as members of my family speak all or part of each language (except me).
We had a pretty otherwise uneventful day, with both "Sweet Pea" and I taking more than a couple naps this afternoon. Introductions to "Cyrus" and baby were held and my big huge dog was even more of a gentleman than I thought he would be. He almost snuffled her ear up his nose, but after wondering what she was, he seemed to like our newest addition to the family. The cats, after their initial curiosity, shrug their shoulders at her now.
More than a couple people suggested putting my pony saddle on "Cyrus" and letting her ride him, or putting his dog pack on and letting him carry her gear for us. I so cannot wait for 6-8 weeks to be up so I can start walking and then hiking again. We started our hunt for a house again and found another potential contender. The other 1940's home is on 'standby' and they are not dropping it any further at this time.... which is the bank's right.. and which they can keep if they don't like my offer. I figure walking/hiking will be a good start on getting myself back into shape for all the stuff I will need to do when I do get a place. I also found out one of my longtime friends may be coming to stay with me for awhile when I do have a home. It will be awesome to have her company, let her relax and listen to her music, as she is a recording artist.

and it was a long one!
